Well known American Brand, Florence Eiseman, is one of our favorite children’s wear designers – we pretty much LOVE everything they do, but we especially love their Spring and Summer collections. NO one does applique and seersucker the way Florence Eiseman does. Started in 1945, this eponymous brand is known for simple cuts, classic styling and appliques of fish, flowers and trees. (IMAGE) The Rockefellers, Fords and Kennedys have traditionally dressed their babies in Florence Eiseman's designer baby clothes for girls and boys, so naturally their stylish frocks are perfect for the ADRIAN EAST customer! We consistently sell out of their adorable offerings! Princesses Caroline and Stephanie wore Eiseman togs as toddlers and today, their sweet, summery styles can be seen along posh avenues from Madison Avenue to Worth Ave. The looks are quickly identifiable and seem to never go out of style?! Classic and cute, the fit is perfect and the looks ideal for anything from an afternoon barbeque to dining al fresco along the shore! More recently, their range of styles has expanded, so the famously-finicky tween can even find the perfect dress!
People magazine, which documented the famous brand and its well-known doyenne in a highly-regarded piece, both explained and immortalized Eiseman’s design philosophy. She scorned waistlines, noting with typical forthrightness, that "Little children don't have waistlines. They have protruding tummies." Consequently, many of the Florence Eiseman styles are simple A-line shifts for girls and one piece rompers for boys.
Ms. Eiseman also didn’t believe in the tacky trend of dressing little boys in miniature versions of their fathers, “The biggest mistake mothers make is to dress boys to look like little men. There is nothing worse, except possibly fur coats on little girls." Certainly, you can see why Florence Eiseman remains a perennial favorite at ADRIAN EAST!
